The number of Schibsted shareholders rose in 2010 from 4,754 to 4,899. At the end of 2010, 43 per cent of the Schibsted shares were owned by foreign-resident shareholders. One year earlier, this share was 45 per cent. The company’s largest owner, Blommenholm Industrier AS, sold 970,000 shares on 14 October 2010, thus reducing its stake from 27.0 per cent to 26.1 per cent, but at the same time it underlined its goal of being a long-term owner of more than 25 per cent of the Schibsted shares.
