Schibsted Media Group’s editoral operations outside Norway and Sweden are located in Spain, France, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia.

Operating profit (EBITA) improved in 2010 due to the effects of the profitability program and revenue growth in France.

In 2010 the international media houses had an underlying growth in operating revenues of 2 per cent. The reported growth was negative, however, at 6 per cent, affected by currency fluctuations.

    20 Minutes is a free newspaper concept in France and Spain.

     

    20 Minutes in France consolidated its position in  2010 as the most widely-read newspaper in France. 2010 turned out to be the best year in the company's history.

     

    Total revenues amounted to EUR 52.4 million (EUR 49.3 million).20 Minutes had an operating margin (EBITA) in 2010 of 6 per cent (2%).

  • EESTI MEEDIA GROUP

    Schibsted owns several companies in Estonia and Lithuania. These are organized through the holding company Eesti Meedia Group, which is based in Tallinn. The Baltic market is recovering. 

     

    Total revenues amounted to EEK 1,130 million (EEK 1,069 million). Eesti Media Group had an operating margin (EBITA) in 2010 of 3 per cent (2%).

  • 20 MINUTOS (SPAIN)

    20 Minutos is Spain’s most widely-read general newspaper, with a daily readership of 2.3 million on weekdays.

     

    After two years of severe decline, the general advertising market in Spain improved slightly from a bottom level in 2009.

     

    Total revenues amounted to EUR 26.0 million (EUR 28.2 million). 20 Minutos had an operating margin (EBITA) in 2010 of -1 per cent (-13%).

  • MOJ RAJON

    The weekly newspaper Moj rajon is St Petersburg’s second-largest newspaper. In 2010 the readership was stabilized after a decline in 2009.

     

    The website Mr7.ru showed a favourable trend in traffic volumes in 2010, and at the beginning of 2011 it is one of St Petersburg’s three largest online news sites.
