“I decide which stories are to appear on the first page of Aftenposten’s online editions, where they should be positioned and how they are presented. I work shifts along with two others in the same position.
I'm probably one of those who benefits most from the Media Norge collaboration. It means that in addition to the newspaper’s own material, I can also choose the best stories from the other regional newspapers in the Media Norge media group and present them for Aftenposten.no's readers.
Sometimes we end up sitting working until into the small hours and don’t even leave our desks to get something to eat, but the tempo, temperature, excitement and – not least – great colleagues more than weighs up for that. As the edition editor for the online edition, you never know what will happen on your shift. The plans for the day have to be changed fast if something big happens. At the same time, we are often the ones who can set the agenda, thanks to the work of our talented journalists. That’s the best part of my job!”
