Karin is a Senior Project Manager in the Product and Marketing Department at Schibsted Classified Media (SCM). She has worked for the Schibsted group since 2005.
Karin says:
“I’m responsible for user friendliness and web analysis for all of the companies in SCM's online classifieds portfolio. I initiate, carry out and communicate projects and methods that can be used to optimize and measure website performance with our users and business goals in mind.
I joined Schibsted five years ago as a functional tester with FINN.no’s Quality Assurance Department. I later joined Schibsted International Classified and Search (CICS), where I worked on setting up FINN.no’s Italian sister website and on product development of both that website and the Austrian project Willhaben.au. In 2008 SICS became SCM, and I went from working primarily on two websites to focusing on user experience and web analysis for all the online classifieds websites in the SCM group, which now consists of more than 26 sites in 22 countries.
SCM encourages interaction between the local company resources in different countries and markets through joint projects and meeting arenas. These offer unique opportunities to gain insights into and an understanding of my area of specialization that can be passed on, reused and established as best practice both inside the SCM group and in other Schibsted companies.
Working in Schibsted’s different cultures and markets, where apparent differences often prove to be similarities and where good communication is often one of the most critical tools for achieving important goals, is a great learning experience, professionally challenging and – not least – a lot of fun!”
