New CFO/COO at Schibsted Norge

Tina Stiegler (35) is hired as Schibsted Norge’s new CFO/COO. She takes up the position on August 1st.

- Tina is a representative of the digital world, she is an expert on organizational changes and she’s a great ambassador for the VG culture. I am confident that she is the right person for the new Schibsted Norge, says CEO Didrik Munch in Schibsted Norge.

Tina is currently Organizational Director at the VG media house. At Schibsted Norge she will replace Andreas Torsheim, who recently took up the position as CEO of regional media house Bergens Tidende (BT). Stiegler has been a key person in the merger between VG and VG Nett, and has her background from VG’s online activities.

- I really look forward to my new job and see it as a privilege to be able to continue working with all the exciting media products in Schibsted Norway’s portfolio. I am excited to work at a strategic level with the challenges that the media industry is facing, together with some of its best leaders, says Stiegler.

Previously, Stiegler was a trainee in Schibsted, and she has worked as a journalist in VG, CFO in Schibsted Forlag and a business developer in BT, among others. She also has experience as journalist in BT and NRK. Stiegler holds an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), in addition to studies in comparative literature and French.

Stiegler will be responsible for organizational change projects at Schibsted Norge and will head the company’s economy, IT and personnel functions in the organization that counts approximately 100 persons. In the course of the spring she will be part of the boards of directors at BT, Stavanger Aftenblad, Fædrelandsvennen and Finn.no.

From now on, the executive group of the new Schibsted Norge, which was established with VG and Schibsted Forlag joined Media Norge, will include four leaders with background from VG.

- It’s important that our top leaders understand the changes that the media industry is facing. Tina is a “total package” in this sense, with her background as a journalist in the print newspapers, project manager in a subscription newspaper, leader in an online newspaper and organizational director in a merged media house, says Munch.
