Ingvild Næss (36) holds a law degree from the University of Oslo and is a leading lawyer in Norway in the field of privacy and data protection. Currently Næss heads the practice group for technology and privacy/data protection in one of the largest Norwegian law firms, Thommessen. She has in-depth knowledge and experience from working with privacy issues in a multitude of organizations, and will be in charge of all group privacy initiatives in Schibsted Media Group. She assumes the position in January 2016, replacing Lars Vinden who has held the same position until now.
“To stay competitive in the digital business, we must be able to both utilize data and protect privacy at the same time. Ingvild combines a proven track-record in the privacy field and a commercial mindset, and I am delighted that she has accepted the opportunity to work with our organization,” says Jacob Møller, Head of Legal and M&A in Schibsted Media Group.
Schibsted’s digital strategy involves both developing existing services and building new platforms and technology. The processing of personal data is often at the heart of these initiatives. Schibsted’s privacy commitments enable the organization to create value for individuals, partners and the group while fulfilling the users’ expectations and our legal obligations. Ingvild Næss will work to further strengthen and expand our privacy initiatives across the group, to ensure that we stay on top of the developments in a fast moving business world.
”I am very excited about joining Schibsted Media Group. I look forward to getting to know the organization, to be part of the team and to use my experience to contribute to the exploration and development of business opportunities. I want to have a close dialogue with the operations to ensure that Schibsted is in front of the development and is equipped to utilize the possibilities the technological development gives. I wish to be a clear voice, not only to make sure that Schibsted operates within the legal framework but also in a way that ensures that Schibsted maintains the users’ trust and constantly increasing privacy expectations,” says Næss.
