Meet the teams who will lead the new Schibsted

Today Schibsted Group presents the new management teams for its Marketplaces and Media divisions, as well as the new Group Functions Management.

“The new teams are highly qualified and passionate about their respective areas. I am confident that with the new setup for divisions and group level we will be able to push Schibsted forward fast and have an even stronger impact in our markets,” says CEO Rolv Erik Ryssdal.

With two operational divisions and a redefined role for the Group level, Schibsted will be faster and more focused. The new organizational setup was presented a few weeks ago. The ambition is to enable Schibsted to further increase the speed of product and technology development and leverage local competence and strong brands across more than 20 markets. At the same time, continue to capture the benefits of global scale, and continue to create value for all our customers, users and shareholders.

The overall strategy of Schibsted remains unchanged; to be a global leader in online classifieds, to develop world-class digital media houses and develop new growth services. Product and Technology continues to be a driving force for the whole group.

Today the new management teams are presented.

“With the new Marketplaces team in place we will further develop our strong brands and positions, as well as our user and monetization products. We will focus on striking the right balance between local and global, and delivering great results while also looking ahead to ensure we make the right strategic moves,” says Sondre Gravir, CEO of Schibsted Marketplaces.

“For the new Media team quality journalism and smart digital consumer services are core. We aim to create an organization with efficient decision-making, clear priorities and speed to further build the business, scale our digital products and increase the market impact for our publishing and growth brands,” says Raoul Grünthal CEO Schibsted Media.

The divisions will be supported and followed up by a new functions management setup at the Group level, led by CEO Rolv Erik Ryssdal.

“I am confident we now have the right teams in place, and I look forward to seeing all of Schibsted empowered to do what we live for: empowering people in their daily lives by giving our users and customers the very best experiences we possibly can,” says CEO Rolv Erik Ryssdal.
