Schibsted is now investing in Finnish Linear, whose service enables realtors to manage the entire assignment in the same tool. The service, which was launched at the end of 2020, is already used by five percent of the real estate agents in Finland. There are now plans for expansion to more markets.
Linear’s system is a comprehensive digital tool for real estate agents. Through the self-managing user interface, the number of time-consuming, manual work steps is reduced, which gives more time for client meetings and reduces workload. The tool includes, among other things, digital styling, renovation, floor plans and virtual viewings.
Schibsted Finland’s marketplaces Tori, Oikotie and Rakentaja together are Finland’s largest marketplace, including homes, with over 50 million monthly visitors. With the investment in Linear, the company gets an active owner, while Schibsted’s affiliated real estate agents can improve their sales processes and strengthen their operations.
“From the start, Linear’s idea has been to improve real estate agents’ everyday life with the help of digitisation and artificial intelligence. As a challenger in the market, we have focused on the competitive advantages from agile development and building a comprehensive system that can connect banks, the tax authority, suppliers of marketing materials, and more. With Schibsted on board, we aim to offer our tool to more markets,” says Miro Eriksson, CEO and co-founder, Linear.
“Linear’s team has proven to be very motivated, committed and competent and we look forward to supporting them further in their growth and expansion into both Sweden and more markets in the future,” says Pontus Ogebjer, investment manager, Schibsted Ventures.
Schibsted’s ownership stake in Linear is just over five percent.
