Women in Tech 2017 – An empowering experience

Schibsted as a Diamond sponsor had 22 colleagues participating at the The European Women in Tech conference 2017 in Amsterdam last week.

Amazing talent, inspiring talks, motivational boost, challenging dilemmas, our very own superhero, new friends and contacts from all over the world; check!

The #wintech17 conference was a great success. Schibsted participated with 22 colleagues, two speakers and an exhibition booth.

Held in the RAI conference center in Amsterdam, the European Women in Tech 2017 gathered around 900 participants celebrating women in tech. A two day conference with everything from an exhibition area to huge presentations, smaller workshops and seminars showing some of the great talent that exist in the tech industry. It included networking gatherings, new inputs and lots of inspiration on how we can stand together to fight for a more diverse tech world.

Schibsted’s own superwoman, custom designed for the WIT conference.

Schibsted CIO, Malin Bäcklund held a presentation about key learnings from Schibsted’s current transformation to a technology and data driven business.

Muge Ersoy, Software Developer and Head of Mobile at Schibsted, held a workshop about Layout Solution for Scalable iOS Apps.

The idea behind the Schibsted exhibition booth was to create a place with an empowering message, interactive aura and an open space where people could feel welcome and creative. On the small wall, people could stand in front of our very own Schibsted wall of fame and get their picture taken; polaroid style! At the end of the conference, around 150 women had their picture on the wall, a great display of a diverse group of women in technology.
