Landgericht Berlin yesterday treated Schibsteds appeal in connection with the summons from the publisher Axel Springer regarding spreading of the free newspaper 20 Minuten Cologne. The court of justice ruled against Schibsted. The ruling will be appealed to a higher court. The spreading of the free newspaper will either be stopped or published without any local content until a new ruling is made. It is expected that this will take around two weeks time.
The prohibition against publishing of the newspaper has caused reactions in the international press.
