As earlier announced, Schibsted ASA entered into a letter of intent regarding the acquisition of Bladkompaniet including its subsidiaries. The preliminary agreement has now been replaced by a final agreement. The acquisition will be effective from 1 January 1999.

Bladkompaniet publishes books and magazines for the mass market in Norway and is part owner of Bladcentralen which is the largest Norwegian distributor of magazines and books to grocery stores, gas stations and newsstands.

In 1998 Bladkompaniet had revenues of NOK 139.4 million and the operating profit was NOK 9.6 million The pre-tax profit was NOK 11.9 million. The company has 57 employees.
