AFTONBLADET – SCANDINAVIA’S LARGEST DAILY NEWSPAPER IN SEPTEMBER
Aftonbladet has passed Expressen and was in September Sweden’s largest daily newspaper, and also Scandinavia’s largest daily newspaper. The historic circulation figures, were released today by AB Tidningsstatistik.
Aftonbladet had an average circulation in September 1996 of 400,600 copies, while Expressen had an average circulation of 389,200 copies.
Aftonbladet’s increase in September (compared with September last year) was 12,000 copies, while Expressen’s decrease for the same period was 26.300 copies.
The circulation figures for the two competing newspapers for September 1996 were the following for weekdays and Sundays (changes from September 1995 in parenthesis)
Aftonbladet weekdays: 382,000 (+10,700)
Expressen weekdays: 369,400 (-27,900)
Aftonbladet Sundays: 493,500 (-7,300)
Expressen Sundays: 487,900 (-46,100)
