Norske Skogindustrier ASA, supplier of 80 % of norwegian newspapers´ newsprint consumption, has announced a 5 % price reduction effective September 1st.
The price level for the last four months of 1996 will consequently be comparable to the price level for the fourth quarter of 1995, when Aftenposten end VG had combined newsprint costs of NOK 72,5 Million.
Norske Avisers Landsforbund (the federation of norwegian newspapers) will shortly start negotiating with newsprint suppliers for 1997.
