Schibsted ASA and Telenor AS have, as announced earlier, entered into an
agreement regarding the establishing of Scandinavia Online AS, which is a
jointly owned company for preparation and distribution of content on the
internet. Scandinavia Online AS is now established as a company and is
fully operative under its Managing Director Erik Hagen. This company will
focus on the Norwegian market.
An agreement has now been reached as to the establishment of a similar
jointly owned company for the Swedish market. The company will be named
Scandinavia Online AB, and will be the result of a merger between the
activities of the present Scandinavia Online AB, controlled by Telenor,
and the activities of the present Sverigenätet AB, controlled by Schibsted ASA.
The new company will be owned 66 % by Schibsted ASA and 34 % by Telenor and it
will be operative int the market during the spring of 1997. The company’s
Chairman of the Board will be Executive Vice President Birger Magnus, Schibsted ASA.
