Schibsted`s Scandinavian production company for TV and TV commercials, Metronome Film & Television, has entered into a contract for the production of a new daily drama series for TV 2 in Norway in a 50/50 co-operation with the Swedish production company TV Spartacus. The contract, which has a total value of between NOK 320 and 350 million, runs over a period of five years and calls for the production of 900 episodes. This is one of the largest contracts ever awarded to a European TV production company and the initial 220 episodes will be produced during 1998 and 1999. The series will be broadcast starting in the autumn of 1998. Metronome Film & Television and TV Spartacus are already co-operating on the production of drama for TV 2 as Metronome`s wholly owned company, Rubicon TV, and Spartacus jointly produce the TV 2 series «The seven sisters».
