Christina Højer Mørkve joins Schibsted as Public Policy Manager Norway

In her new role, Christina Højer Mørkve will serve as a key advisor on political and regulatory matters that affect the framework conditions for Schibsted’s editorial media operations in Norway.

Mørkve joins from the position of Senior Manager at Rud Pedersen Public Affairs, where she has worked on political processes related to energy, infrastructure, climate, and technology. She has previously served as a political advisor for the Conservative Party’s central organization in Norway, and as a European affairs advisor in Brussels for the Oslo Region European Office.
“Christina has solid experience from the intersection of politics, regulation, and societal issues,” says Petra Wikström, Director Public Policy & Communication at Schibsted.
“She understands how political decisions are made and the implications they have for the media industry. At a time when an increasing number of regulations impact how media organizations operate, it is crucial that we have a dedicated resource with political insight and strategic perspective. Christina will play an important role in our dialogue with authorities and in positioning Schibsted in relation to both national media policy and relevant EU processes.”

Wikström adds that Mørkve will work closely with the third member of Schibsted’s Public Policy team, Anna Sööder, who holds the equivalent position for Schibsted in Sweden.

“Truly motivated”

Christina Højer Mørkve is eager to take on the new role:
“In the times we live in, editorially independent media – and the very idea of shared truths – are more important than ever. At the same time, Norwegian media face fiercer competition than before, and new regulations from both the EU and the Norwegian Parliament must be navigated. Combined, this is a landscape I feel truly motivated to take on, and I’m excited to join Norway’s leading media company.”

She also highlights the people at Schibsted as an important reason for her decision:
“Under the Schibsted umbrella, some of the sharpest minds in Norwegian media are at work. As a market leader, Schibsted plays a key role in shaping the regulatory framework for the media of tomorrow. I greatly look forward to learning from and with this collective expertise.”

Mørkve holds a master’s degree in human rights from the University of Oslo and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South-Eastern Norway.
She will take up the position in February.
