In 2015 Schibsted entered a strategic partnership with AppNexus, the world’s largest independent advertising technology company. We are positioning ourself for the future rise of programmatic by investing in heavy technology, and building capabilities that will offer our customers great products and leveraging our unique position in local markets. Schibsted´s partnership with AppNexus allows us to assemble all advertising infrastructure in one solution.
“AppNexus has technology that lets us improve digital inventory management and gain access to new mechanisms for programmatic buying and selling,” says VP Advertising Schibsted Norge, Per Håkon Fasting.
“A unified advertising infrastructure across Schibsted also means we can develop new products and get them to market much faster than today.”
Schibsted´s digital inventory and advertising will in the future be full stack in AppNexus. This means our customers will have access to Schibsted’s entire inventory on the same platform, both nationally and internationally. This is a very important milestone for Schibsted in the digital transformation as we will be able to offer the same solutions in direct sale as well as programmatic.
During the next 6 months we will gradually move Schibsted’s various sites onto the new platform. Our biggest sites, VG and FINN, will transfer on 26 April.

Schibsted’s own developers and the AppNexus team will ensure improved products on the new platform: more targeting opportunities, more precise targeting opportunities, and good reporting. When all the sites have been migrated, we will be able to make new products available simultaneously across the whole network.
“We intend to announce other new developments going forward. This will include the opportunity for buyers using AppNexus to make purchases with viewability guarantee – with a launch expected in the third quarter.»
