As a part of Karrierebarometeret 2017, Norwegian students were asked to evaluate their knowledge about and how attractive they find trainee and graduate programs in Norway. This year, Schibsted’s Management Trainee program has been ranked on top, up seven places from last year, and ahead of other attractive companies such as Microsoft, DNV GL and DNB.
The goal of Schibsted’s trainee program is to recruit young talents and qualify them for key positions in Schibsted’s companies and organizations. Being ranked as Norway’s best trainee program is a huge recognition to Schibsted as a company, but not at least to the team and people behind.
“These are incredibly happy news that make Schibsted very proud. Recruiting the best talent is crucial for succeeding in the fast pace of change we are going through in Schibsted right now, and the Trainee Program is a clear result of that. Therefore, it is especially nice to get this kind feedback from Norwegian students. We will continue developing the trainee program to make sure the best talent keep coming to Schibsted,” says Siv Juvik Tveitnes, EVP People in Schibsted.
“This is really amazing! There are many big companies that offer very good trainee programs, so to be considered the best is a true honor, really. This is a result of consistent work and continuous adaptation of the program over a long period of time. The trainees themselves have always been important players in this process, supporting both the development of the program but also as its ambassadors,” says Jonas Behrendt, Head of Trainee Programs at Schibsted Media Group.

With merely a year since my graduation I have had the opportunity to work with immensely interesting problems and people. That is a clear sign of Schibsted’s willingness to trust and invest in young talent. Ultimately I think that is what makes the Schibsted Trainee Program the coolest job a business and tech product minded graduate can have across any industry these days,” says Fredrik Haga, Schibsted Management Trainee.
The trainee program has its own Facebook page where you can follow the trainees’ everyday life in Schibsted. The Facebook page has over 15,000 followers and is called “Schibsted Media Group Trainee Program”.
